SHIFT

Natural disasters are increasing around the world. One the worst in Canada occurred a decade after the Gold Rush when two American entrepreneurs set out to capitalize on the rich coals seams in southeast Alberta. Ignoring the warnings of many including Indigenous Elders that the location of the new town was precarious as was their pace mining the coal. Until tragedy stuck and the mountain collapsed killing everyone in the town resulting in the worst recorded rock slide in North America.

Starting my first company with 3 children, and $100 dollars I juggled life as a working mother so I when I left the CBC I created a show with my children exploring Canada in an attempt to find that work/life/single mother balance. Producing 39 episodes the series sold around the world airing internationally in 78 markets. Most recently re airing in Canada on Encore The Canadian Media Fund's Channel launched to celebrate the best of Canadian programming from the past.

The Need To Know

Following the Paul Bernardo trial, this groundbreaking documentary explored the role of the media and the ethical quandaries journalists faced in covering it. In 2023 some of our footage from this doc was utilized in the Netflix film starring Ryan Gosling.

Streets of Gold

This dramatic series followed the lives of two families forced to flee their homelands and immigrate to Canada. Stories that capture the hope, the courage, the loss and the failed expectations as new Canadians.

NINE MONTHS TO LIFE

This documentary examined the plight of incarcerated pregnant women forced to give up their children after giving birth. Filmed in prisons in Portage La Prairie and Kingston Pen and broadcast on the CBC's channel Newsworld.

Highlighting the collaborations of scientists, government agencies like NASA, the Canadian Space Agency and companies like MDA Nordion and others surrounding the launch of the ISS winning numerous science awards including The Bell New Media Award in Canada.

Producing over 60 hours of award winning sports documentaries such as Overtime, Beirut United, The History of the CFL and The History of The Stanley Cup, these programs broadcast nationally and internationally on networks including; ESPN, CBS,TSN, CTV, Newsworld and the CBC. Through permanent installations, historical documentaries covering the history of the Stanley Cup and The CFL can still be viewed as The Hockey and CFL's Hall of Fame.
