While smaller in scale it brought178 CEO's to Canada in 2013 resulting in $160M in new sales to Canadian owned SME's.	Thought Leadership OECD Recent work in 2025 with the OECD and others in terms of my expertise has been in areas contributing towards the design of new hyper local models that in scale/scope are also national and international so as to start the rebuilding of new structural systems and operational frameworks (incl.nvestment) that aren't driven by vested interests. Whether in terms of business, government or philanthropy so as address the rising social inequities facing civil society in Canada and around the world.

In addition to expanding new commercial partnerships that further supported the digitization of our holdings and construction of new archival facilities.	Water summit Timely today, this 2009 public policy conference brought 3,200 of the world's top experts, scientists and policy makers too Canada purposefully to create new collaborative efforts and share expertise on lessons learned for how we should all manage our planets freshwater resources. Then as now it's imperative we do so.
Investment & Funding Creating and leveraging ethical funding with ingenuity continues to be a personal hallmark.	Governance & Oversight Ethics and integrity are imperative for civil society to function. Whether in relation to government business, boards, philanthropy, professional associations, fields like science or even the law. Outside core ethical principals honesty is also very cost effective because when people can trust the system and each other everything flourishes.	Improving Governance Nationally appointment in 2023 to the board of Hockey Canada to improve their governance/operations following Justice Cromwells Report. In 2002 I was appointed co-chair of the Ottawa Sens Community Coalition following the teams bankruptcy. Helped to set up the Sens foundation, create more community focused programs like this one "I'm Going Too !" that underwrote costs so marginalized families could attend games. Copied by the NHL across the board this program is still in play in Ottawa in 2026.
Delivering Emergency Trauma Kits As Russia invaded Ukraine in 2022, following a desperate email to my LinkedIn account asking for desperately needed medical supplies I tapped my network and pulled together some of the great people in Ottawa to purchase and send over 500 medical trauma kits to Ukraine.	The INTERNATIONAL SPACE STATION Following outreach from the great cultural icon Carl Sagan and the wonderful Canadian science journalist Lydia Dotto, I led the marketing and communication strategies highlighting the global efforts involved in science to launch the ISS. With tremendous creativity and amazing people programming was delivered in 7 languages, across every medium and platform. This also encompassed the production of documentary series for DISCOVERY and IMAX.	Food Insecurity 2020-2021 On a local, regional and national level Canada needs new approaches. Food banks are not enough. Approached to help revision solutions, this multi-million dollar pilot project was designed to scale and improve how we can better address food sovereignty and food insecurity in Canada. Further impacted now by the recent challenges not only from current tariff battles in trade from the US but also the dismantling in critical areas of food inspection and oversight.
People Matter & Local Matters This policy roadmap examined the ROI and the benefits of the arts to the well functioning of Canada and the pressing need for reform across the realm. In 2026 this includes improving the practices in donor relations, sponsorships and fiscal oversight in sustained corporate giving. Best practices of how we can improve funding the arts in Canada is of value as they can become force multipliers for local economies and healthy civil society as well.	Inclusion Since high school I've worked with Indigenous communities. As well as through senior advisory roles for ground breaking initiatives like APTN where I took a unique approach (then) to build the business case for their licensing in utilizing hard data. Subsequently I have worked to advance Calls to Action for the TRC and mentor emerging Indigenous professionals and youth. Including at ATPN across all areas of production, contract law, program creation, finance and distribution.	THE RED CROSS: The WPC Program Reducing violence in Canada was the focus of the WPC I worked on for the Canadian Red Cross updating their training materials, practices, research and communication practices.
Inclusion & Opportunities Sharing matters. Not only in terms of expertise but also in areas that government leads today. Apart from those who are known, what's needed are new perspectives that incorporate not just ideas but execution so as to improve results, outcomes and increase opportunities for others. As a purpose driven executive these values have been foundational to my career.	Quality of Care Future Citizens In 2023 following new Federal daycare policy I led a new non-profit initiative to build more public daycares in Canada. Pulling together seasoned expertise in Canada, Europe and the US. It connects back into my 1998 appointment as the English co-chair for the Western Quebec School Board following the provinces introduction of $5.00 a day daycare.	Teaching/Mentoring With 25 years in business, journalism and advisory work I continue to champion best practices that aren't always driven by the latest thing. That includes AI. It is simply a processing tool. That can't be adopted without thought. It is a tool that is driven by efficiency. So in the mind of AI without checks or balances it will also be driven by efficiency. Which is where all the warnings come in. Because humans are not tools or assembly lines. In the mind of AI efficiencies are eliminated.
BETWEEN 2 FERNS Inspired by Zach Galifianakis quirky show between 2 ferns, I bring to all my work a broad network, a rigorous critical mindset from my earlier career as a journalist/independent documentary producer and CEO reinvigorating how programs/projects/policy can be funded and communications more effectively utilized to create positive change.	LIFE WON'T WAIT Ghost writing this book for a Canadian volunteer working in humanitarian relief during natural disasters including earthquakes in Nepal/Pakistan and the 2004 Tsunami what was incredibly insightful was that 97% of people helped and rescued during these events were from local people not aid agencies.	UNESCO Working with UNESCO over the years, they remain a jewel of an organization. This series I executed for them involved developing new communication strategies and educational materials to better engage villagers, schools and local leadership at grassroots levels.
Corporate Sponsorships Everything is about and nothing is about money.To get things done it's a necessity. It doesn't have to be evil. Leading change envelops re orientating who we partner with in terms of funding, investment and engagement that's not corrupted by self interests or plain old evil intention. Philanthropy in Canada is critically in need of reform.	Arts Economics There is nothing flaky on the importance excellence in the arts. Stealing other peoples work is not creative. New approaches and solutions for the arts are needed. Working in areas of adjudication, public policy funding and as a volunteer it has to stop being an insiders game. Generationally my family has long contributed. Which is why Canadians can skate the Rideau Canal, have institutions in place like the Canada Council and numerous cultural institutions in their communities today.	Climate Competitiveness with Science As a CDO for this competitive climate strategic policy program for the government of British Columbia it focused on increasing new international markets for emerging new climate technologies and solutions. In areas of energy, agriculture, hydrology, sanitation and the life sciences.
